Nick Appears Again on RootzLive!

So this whole being unexpectedly unemployed has one perk, it got me a 2nd time doing RootzLive! which is an awesome show to be on.  Scotty Brown has asked me a few times since the episode with the OMG!Droid crew to come on again, but working the late shift with my now previous employer obviously complicated that.

But yeah, schedule cleared up and I got to go on with Adam Fisch from AOKP and talk about the new line of Nexus devices coming out.  One request...can we next time NOT put me on WITH A FUCKING DEV.  Holy shit do you know how stressful to go on and talking devices with one of those dudes and hold your ground, especially one from AOKP?  Kudos to those guys, as they do a hell of a job with that ROM.  

All in all, it went well and I sounded like I had half a clue as to what I was talking about.  Fuck yeah!

Next time can we cover something easy to lighten the stress on me?  Thanks guys!

The Weekend Project: Rewiring the Entertainment Center

Ok so when we moved in this place, Kevin and I kinda rushed things when it came to the entertainment center and getting it going.  We normally tend to have things a bit more professional looking, but honestly time took precedent over organization.  We got it all set and running, added more shit here and there, and just got too damn lazy to rework it all.

We finally realized it had to happen when we were out of plug room on the 2 power strips in the back to add some of the old school game consoles we wanted to get going.  Plus we honestly couldn't figure out what the fuck went where because the wiring hell was such a mess.  I believe someone even mentioned the term "fire hazard" at some point.  Hell Hoffa could have been buried under the wires and we wouldn't have known.

So there we were facing reality that it had to happen.  With everything I first estimated we would use 17 plugs, and I was close.  19 after it was all said and done.  One to spare if we need anything else.  And we managed to get it completely stripped down and wired from the floor up in under 2 hours.

The breakdown, for those who asked:
TV, Receiver (7.1 surround), Gamecube, Airave (cell signal booster), router, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, Playstation 2, DVR, A/V switch, blu-ray player, Xbox 360 and HD DVD add-on.  The Playstation 3 will be back on when it gets back from repairs.

I hate waiting for new gadgets

For those who know me, I change out phones like ho's change clothes.  It's hard to settle on one.  It's finally come to the point that I've decided on the phone I want as I've been forced out of the Blackberry market due to shitty equipment.  The phone I've been eyeballing finally for the patch out to fix the GPS issues, and I couldn't be more excited.  Right?  I'm excited right?

No, I'm not.  My fucking upgrade isn't until 4/1 and I've been staring at this thing online for 2 weeks now since I settled in.

My Blackberry Style is sitting in my office collecting dust.  Daily annoyances of the data connection just dropping off have driven me to the end.  I curse every day using my old HTC Hero which has been doing backup phone duty for some time now because I fat finger everything I type.  Most people I message think I'm fucking high because it's so bad.  Ok, I could have been on some occasions, but not every time.

I finally decided on the Samsung Epic.  Yes, the UI sucks, but I can load up ADW and call it a day.  I know Samsung has that Nexus S out which is a pure Google phone, and it's tempting, but therein lies that fat finger problem again.  A real keypad is a must.  Bye bye Evo too.  Tried that, failed horribly.

In case you're wondering, I'm limited to the Sprint lineup since they're my carrier.  No, I'm not changing carriers.  My price is too damn good on service.

I looked at the Windows 7 phones, but the UI looks like it was done by a retarded 3 year old with one had wedged up his ass.  That option is out.

So yes, Epic it is.

This fucking upgrade date needs to hurry up.  My lacking of typing on the current phone, along with lack of memory to properly suffice all the porn apps I'm partial to installing is driving me nuts.  Can someone get me a fucking time machine please?
